RP: A Day At The Market

Summary: The day has come for Julian's market test. He's blessed with a talented and diverse staff. Now, he just needs some business.

To say that Julian Avery was ready for his first day of sales in his new profession, in his new town, in his new life, was a bit of a simplistic and inaccurate answer. Oh, he had made sure all the bases were covered. He had an excellent booth rented in the market, plenty of quality products, enough staff assembled to comfortably manage the situation, back up diversions for the younger staff members, treats and tea for everyone, and a good night's rest for the ruckus that was Business.
At the same time, he was anxious as all hell.
Julian Avery wasn't foreign to business and trade, but his view had always been from atop a comfy and successful pedestal. He had inherited a handful of successful businesses and had been bred to manage them like any executive would. Namely, by commands from on high. Being the middleman, the merchant on the street, would have been unheard of by any Avery. Of course, times being what they were, one could easily be both CEO of your own enterprise, and lowly peddler. Oh, the joys of brave, new worlds.
With a tentative smirk, Julian put the last touches on the displays, the last morsel on the trays, and several more heating charms on his little establishment. Then he sat and waited for staff and patrons to arrive.
