Neville looked up at the pecking of an owl at his window. As he opened it a tawny bird flew through and landed lightly on his desk. Stepping forward, he noted with surprised joy that it was addressed to him courtesy of Green Thumb.
Taking the letter, he opened it quickly and scanned the few lines. With a thoughtful air, he picked up his well-chewed quill and started writing on a piece of parchment:
Ms. Jones,
I would be delighted to meet with you. The best place for such a meeting would probably be Green Thumb, my greenhouse. You would be able to look over my plants and I might even be able to provide you with everything you need at that time, if I have it on hand.
I am available all this week until dark. Just send a return owl with the time you'd like to meet and a list of items you need.
Sincerely,
Neville Longbottom Green Thumb
Taking a deep breath, Neville attached the note to the leg of the bird that had carried his original message and felt a small thrill run through him. He only hoped she didn't need something outrageously rare.
