Dear Professor McGonagall,

Thank you for your speedy reply. I will be certain to contact Mr. Zabini. Do you perchance have his address (if he wrote to you about courses offered in the school)?

And yes, I have noticed certain changes to my own human senses in response to my transformations, which is one of the reasons I question the article. While the author was very precise in her research and measurements for Animagi, both in natural and animal form, versus a set of control animals of the same species, nonetheless, she didn't include a set of control wizards. Yet I think her research opens up an entirely new area of inquiry that we have heretofore been unable to pursue (or haven't thought to). The young woman in question is a Muggle-born whose parents are scientists, so she's made an attempt to unite Muggle and Wizarding research methodology -- which I salute ( ... )

Dear Cedric,

I'm pleased to see that you're in good spirits. The museum is a wonderful project, and I'm certain that it will be very worthwhile.

When would you like for me to ward the building? Also, did you have any particular wards or strength levels in mind? I can review some of the protection charms I've learned over the years and possibly create something suitable for placing over the artifacts, too, if you'd like. That would take a little time, of course, but I'm rather adept at layering such charms, so I could have something very soon.

Yes, I remember Professor Lupin. I'm pleased to hear that he'll be involved with your project in some way. I actually need to speak to him about my own. I'm not familiar with too many of the interests of people in town nor, honestly, many of the people actually in town. I met with Blaise Zabini yesterday regarding my project, though, and he seems to have an interest in history and the museum, so he might be worth contacting. If I think of anyone else, I'll be certain to let you know ( ... )

Dear Hermione,

"Excited" might be something of an understatement. "Obsessed" may come closer. But yes, having something to do with myself keeps me from undue (and usually not very profitable) navel gazing.

You're the second person to mention Zabini; McGonagall did as well. I'll be sure to contact him. I recognize the Zabini name, but I'm not sure I've ever met him, although I may have and simply don't remember. (The brain damage from my 'death'And yes, my days are (at least at present) taken up with work, as is this coming Saturday, at least in part. Evenings may be too dark, but Sunday would work fine -- although you didn't mention it, so if you have a prior appointment that day, we can find another time. There is no terrible rush on this; I'd simply like the wards up before I bring anything to Stoatshead. I plan to go to Diagon Alley the weekend after this, as I have it free, but I suspect that will be mostly a 'fact-gathering' mission. If I bring anything back, it would be relatively small. Dear Diggory,

Sunday should be fine. Say ten? It won't take very long to set the wards, so if you'd prefer an earlier time or later, that's fine.

I've been intending to visit Diagon Alley myself to check Flourish & Botts to see if there's anything salvagable. If you don't mind company, I'd like to tag along. I had intended to ask Ron to go with me, and still might, but if he's busy, this will mean I at least don't have to go to the area alone, in case I do find books that would be worth bringing home.

Obsessed seems to be a good word to describe me and my project, as well.

Take care,

Hermione

Dear Hermione,

If it's easiest for you at 10, I'll meet you at your house then, and show you where the building is.

You'd be most welcome to come with me to Diagon Alley. It might be a wise idea, in fact, to have a partner to watch each other's back. It was, to be honest, rather creepy the last time I was there. We can talk about it on Sunday. I'll be happy to help you carry back any books you may find.

Best,
Cedric

Cedric tied the note to Pallas' leg with a strange thrill of excitement somewhere inside his chest. It was all starting to come together. Sunday the building would get wards, Thursday he'd talk to Bill, and the following weekend, he'd make his first trip to scope out what was remained. He'd even have company. And if having company meant carrying back some books for her, he didn't mind at all.

Dear Cedric,

I do remember you, seeing you around town when you were younger, before I began working in Egypt. Fleur has spoken of you with high regard and affection.

Regarding your proposal I'd be very interested to help in whatever way I can. I will be indisposed for the next week, but by next Thursday or Friday I will be free to meet whenever is convienent for you.

Cheers,
Bill

Dear Bill,

That would be brilliant. If it wouldn't impose on family time, perhaps I could drop by your house next Thursday evening after work? That way, I could say hullo to Fleur, as well. I'm hoping to make a trip to Diagon Alley that weekend following, to take a more considered look at what's there, and I'd like to meet with you beforehand, if possible.

Sincerely,
Cedric
