After receiving Zabini's reply, Hermione realized that she really wasn't entirely sure how to approach her project with a stranger. Discussing it with Rita or McGonagall or even Diggory was one thing, but now she had to explain it to someone who didn't know her and very well might not even like her. No one would ever accuse her of being a 'people person' nor was she the type to ingratiate herself or beg. She was far too matter-of-fact and blunt about things to be at all good in those areas. She could be subtle, though, and was pretty observant in regards to human nature, so maybe she'd not bollocks everything up.

She spent the morning going over her notes and trying to assure herself that she had answers for the majority of questions that might be asked. If she didn't have an answer, hopefully she'd be able to think of one without sounding foolish. Who was likely to trust their rare book collection to someone who sounded stupid? Not likely anyone, was who. By nine, she was ready for the meeting. Instead of pacing around waiting or organizing things for the billionth time, she went ahead and walked to the library.

It was deserted when she entered, which was much of a surprise. She did notice books on the floor, though, and muttered under her breath as she reshelved them. She checked the wards and charms to make sure everything was holding up and then found a book on growing vegetables. There was a chair hidden in the shadows with just enough natural light to read that also had a good view of the door, so she sat down to read while she waited for Zabini.
