The morning had been spent Apparating around Britain looking for a working press. By the time Hermione had arrived home, answered a couple of owls from Percy, and had a small lunch, she was ready to take a walk. There were too many thoughts in her mind right now for her to make sense of anything, even with her lists and notes. Fresh air and a cloudy day would do wonders for letting her focus, and she felt like walking instead of just sitting in the back garden ( ... )

It always took him a while to remember that someone back at St. Mungo's had mentioned he was a professor. Professor of what, though? Probably something terribly important and intellectual like Ancient Runes or... no, wait. He did write about it. He was professor of Defense Against Dark Arts. Well, of course he was. Well, it was quite obvious that she had somehow fallen asleep while on her walk. She felt a bit like Alice stumbling upon the caterpillar in Wonderland. If he started to smoke and blow colored rings, she'd pinch herself until her arm was black and blue to wake up.

"No, I'm sorry. I don't have any sheep," she said. "My name is Hermione Granger, not Bo Peep." After speaking, she realized that the Muggle reference would probably be lost on him. To cover, she continued. "Unfortunately, even Miss Peep lost her sheep. I've heard they're fiendish in that way."
