Viktor hadn't heard back from Brenna at all regarding custody arrangements, and at this point, he was done waiting. He needed to go see Declan, and he needed to arrange for an advocate that would understand both Muggle and Wizarding custom in Britain.

Knowing so few people was a problem, and while Hermione had helped, finding him books and agreeing to watch Maire for a couple of hours so he could tend to things, he couldn't keep asking her for everything. He was going to need to advertise, and trust his relatively long-honed instincts about people; he hadn't survived years as an object of fans' lust without developing a fairly good sense about that sort of thing.
