Ginny felt the warmth creep up her arm from where he held her hand with faint sense of the surreal. His hands enveloped hers in a soft, gentle grip and she caught her lip when he released it, smothering a sigh before it was born.

"How long have I been on the clock?" A confused look flickered across her face as she instinctively turned her head to find the clock on the wall. "What time is it now? Oh. Oh dear. Umm... I've been on the clock for... let's see... seven, yes, twenty eight hours."

Seeing the slightly horrified look on his face, she amended quickly. "Oh, I've catnapped here and there. No worries, I'm perfectly capable of doing my job."

Think you can sneak away?

"As I'm not technically even on the schedule today, sneaking away is kind of a moot point, Adrian, but you'll have to pick the place. I'm afraid my dining out options haven't been expansive past my own tent."

His playful tone was doing funny things to her stomach. Warm, nice things.

And your knees.

His deep, soft laughter did warm things, too, but not to her stomach or her knees.

Ginny found herself smiling easily up at him, her own tone playful. "Oh, now you're being rudely modest. You were a right bloody pain to keep up with, snitch or not."

He noticed Ginny catch her lip slightly and he couldn't help the small bit of squirming is stomach did. How had she only seemed to him to be just another player when they were in school? Sure, he knew her name, but that was about it. She'd been younger than him but that had never stopped him from preying on any of the other girls in her class. Not her house, sure, but still. His outwardly grimaced when she said she'd been working for 28 hours but when she mentioned that she was fine doing her job he shook his head, "Oh, I trust you there. I'm just not sure it's too good for you to be doing that."

He thought back to his first night in Stoatshead and came up with the only place he knew of, "I've been to Five Alarm. With the break ins and things, they don't have much in the way of steak or lobster," he laughed, remembering the night he had tried to order lobster and champagne for everyone, "but their pasta is pretty good, and there always seems to be plenty of whiskey to go around. We could try there, I'm afraid I don't know very much of the town either."

Gods, he thought, she really has grown to be beautiful. And kind. That's the kicker - she's... He couldn't even come up with the right words, she so befuddled him. he looked down at his ankle when she said he was being modest, "Well, no, if someone here has any right to be boasting it's you, trust me. I feel as if I've got a brand new ankle all together." And he rubbed his left shoulder without realizing he was doing it.

Ginny caught the movement immediately, a frown playing across her forehead as she eased his hand away from his shoulder. "What happened, Adrian? I thought you only hurt your ankle."

A quick tug slipped his jacket off and her small hand slipped under the collar of his sweater to gently press against the tense muscles of his shoulder. The damage was old, she could tell from the build-up of scar tissue prominent under his skin. His very soft, very warm shoulder. His very soft, very warm, very muscular shoulder.

Oh dear.

Tapping back the flood of extremely inappropriate thoughts, Ginny tried to keep her voice level. "Does this hurt?"

Adrian didn't exactly know what to do when she had suddenly taken off his jack and slipped her hand under her shoulder. "Oh nothing," he tried to shrug it off, verbally of course, but she was all right working at it with her tiny perfect hands. He had to stop that thought, so instead he decided to tell her what happened.

"It's an old Quidditch thing, really no big deal, I rub it without thinking now. I crashed in a practice once, but it was right before the house cup and I didn't want Flint to replace me, I tried whatever spells I knew on and gritted through the rest. I never even thought to have it checked out, never thought there was anything too wrong with it, but it's still a habit."

He exhaled sharply at whatever she had down, his back going straight and his posture getting talling. "A bit." He gritted out - he couldn't help but think what amazing hands she had.

"It feels like..." Heavenly Ginny gently massaged the tense muscle, murmuring a soft enchantment. "... like you pulled a muscle very badly. Too many years untreated, I'm afraid, lots of scar tissue. I can't do more than relieve the tension a little."

Withdrawing her hand, she chuckled happily. "I can relate. I took a beater to the ribs during a House Cup, broke two and I wouldn't let them pull me out. Madam Pomfrey was livid that I waited so long."

"And the Five Alarm is fine. I'm pretty simple, Adrian, that way. But I'm going to disappoint on the whiskey... I'm afraid firewhiskey is for... confessions... Err... Why don't I go let them know I'm leaving and I'll meet you in the lobby." Ginny flashed him a shy smile.

The way she rubbed at his neck and shoulder made him sigh and inhale as if he were being touched in a seductive way but there was nothign manipulative or sexual about it - it was so right. He could feel the tension coming apart as she touched him, as if the knots that had been there for years were nothing more than melting butter. He thanked her and with a slightly cheeky grin said "It doesn't surprise me, though I'm sorry if it was one of my team mates."

At her mention of confessions he got curious, "Confessions? Get a bit chatty when you drink? It's no problem though, I haven't had a good pumpkin juice in a long time, and I'm pretty sure they'll have that." He smiled again, hoping she wouldn't find him overly pushy for suggestion alcohol. It was a new feeling for Adrian, for once to not overtly be trying to get a woman's skirt off.

He nodded his head in agreement, "In the lobby it is."

"It was but don't be. I gave as good as I got." Ginny laughed, her eyes dancing devilishly at the memory. Malfoy had limped for a week *after* Madame Pomfrey was done with him.

Pushing the door open, Ginny paused to look back at the raven-haired wizard. "No, drinking is fine. Just Firewhiskey is for confessions and you'll forgive me for passing on that tonight."

Nodding, the petite redhead strode from the room feeling as if she were dreaming. Turning in the corridor, she pulled open the locker room doors and went to hers right away. Tucking her robes inside, she grimaced at her muggle jeans and Canon's T-Shirt and searched her locker for something better. Finding one of George's french cuffed shirts she'd picked up from the cleaners for him, she muttered a quick cleansing charm and pulled her T-shirt off, replacing it with the slightly larger button-down.

Raking a hand through her hair, Ginny made her way back to the lobby where she leaned over the counter to whisper to Lyda, glancing at Adrian as she did with a shy smile.

Walking over to him, Ginny took his offered arm and waved goodbye to the receptionist as Adrian held the door open for her.
