phoning in with a chester update: he is about 50% of normal, and had been acting reassuringly like a twerp (his natural state), but today seems to have full-on fallen into a snotty cat cold. he spent the entire day between the blankets on our bed, sneezing, which is sympathy-inducing except for the fact that my bed is now covered in cat snot. every time i work up a head of steam about the snot thing though, he squints miserably at me with one weepy eye and one tired eye, all sick and sad, and i feel sorry for him all over again. he's eating and begging normally while doing his best to milk us for sympathy, so i'm not too worried; he was on clavamox to try and address any catheterization-related infections, as such is obviously viral, and he'll just have to tough it out.
