do i do memes? no, not really, but here are two.
6 random things about me:
-someone once told me that i don't like change when it happens to me, but i like to see it happen for other people.
-i own a reasonable set of tools for doing amateur camera repair on older yashica rangefinders.
-i have a near constant case (occurrence? ongoing? whatever) of tinnitus, probably thanks to some careless concert attendance during my teen years.
-i wear flipflops 99.999% of the time. five 9s! i probably have at least that many pairs of flipflops, too.
-i am currently in the process of making a berry tart.
-i need a new purse.
it's nice to have a long weekend, moreso because it allows me to deal with the health condition chester just manifested, which is urinary tract blockage due to struvite urolith formation. poor kitty! he went to the real vet yesterday, came home with me with some special food (which he won't touch) and some meds (he pills easily, no surprise there), and observation; this morning he was running from box to box to box and meowing pitifully while trying to urinate, so after making the pastry cream and crust dough for the tart, and while waiting for that to chill, chester got to go to the emergency vet here for catheterization. did you know that urinary tract blockage in cats can be rapidly fatal? i do (and did), which is why i just spent a *god* *awful* amount of money to haul the cat to what seems a very nice facility for emergency treatment. so, that said, here is what i am thankful for, in no particular order:
-that i had the days off already so i am not anxious about dealing with cat emergencies and trying to work at the same time
-emergency vet services will not put me into debt
-zac is great, even if he does play too damn much WoW
-i have rental camera gear that is freaking awesome, and an awesome camera/lens of my own
-despite emergency vet trip, i still have time (as does zac) to make dishes to bring over to a friend's for dinner
-friends in SF who are having dinner and have invited us!
i hope everyone has a great day and that chester has as good as a stay as possible. poor kitty!
