and now, a fic!

And here we have ~4600 words of an AU thing spawned by omniocular's September challenge. (Life got in the way of me finishing it by the end of that month, but better late than never, one supposes.)
Some bits of this went up closer to the time, since the idea wouldn't leave me be, but... it's grown. Without further ado:

Ahhh, delightful! I love the way the relationships have changed here - Sirius and Severus united against Potter in the prank war, and Lily being all documentary. I also really liked the details of the charms and the background characters. You flesh out the atmosphere in a marvelous way.

::grins:: Thanks!
(I may end up revisiting this universe at some point - there are plenty of other stories, particularly in that prank war. Time will tell.)

I love the piece, especially the shifted friendships and the diadem being destroyed by a microwave. :D

Thanks! I imagine the explosion wasn't very good for the microwave, either. XD

Nice! Now this is AU that really engages - a what-if scenario that you fleshed out most delightfully, filled in with plot, and brought to life. I love the persona you've given to all of your main characters here. (And Umbridge as a Hufflepuff? I don't know why I'm so delighted by that idea unless it's the fact that it proves all four houses can still go 'wrong' somewhere.) Wonderful work!

Thanks!
(I figure the fact that Umbridge is in cozy with at least three Ministry administrations, including the arguably nastiest, has to say something about her loyalty to the establishment - more to the idea than to the specific people in charge, but still.)

Most entertaining -- an AU with a storyline of its own, and some interesting variations on the characters, who seem themselves in terms of personality despite beoing placed in different situations. Very nicely done.
