So I was supposed to be having a fun girls weekend with my mom and grandma right now. However, the 80 inches of snow at the airport decided to ruin things.

On the one hand, I'm kind of relieved that they couldn't make it in because them being here was going to make my weekend really hectic. On the other hand, I was really looking forward to doing some shopping and getting out of my apartment. (Plus as a poor grad student, the presence of my mom's credit card was looking very appealing right about now. New clothes, good groceries, and eating out - all pluses!) And my grandma has never been to DC, so I was excited to show her around. Oh well, it will have to happen at a late time.

Now on to the snow. We got a lot of it and I heard that there is a possibility that we will get more on Monday. It's been insane. School was canceled Monday - Thursday, which meant no classes for me all week. The federal government was closed for the same amount of time, which meant no internship for me (our building follows their schedule). And while it is probably open again today, I'm not going in, partially because there is work that I need to do at the library (and it has to be there because that is where the documents are that I need - and with school being closed, so was the library this week) and partially because I just don't feel like it. Also, my desktop computer has been infected with some virus or something and so I'm sitting at home trying to clean it up. Thankfully, I have lappy to help me out. Also I really need to find someway to make some money, which means applying for jobs. And I can't really do that at my internship.

I put pictures from the snow up: http://picasaweb.google.com/PJHughes05/Blizzards2010#
