Always Attract (Chapter 95)

Luke sat back on the floor of the nursery looking smug as Reid took in the room before him. “I have to say, I’m quite impressed.”

He shrugged, but still continued to grin like an idiot. “I put together Ethan’s crib after he was born. My dad was pretty overwhelmed with everything that was going on and I was trying to take my mind off of my mom so I ( Read more... )

I think Blaine and Jeremiah had coffee more than once, but I could be wrong. I think that Blaine was interested in Kurt when they first met, but then Kurt needed a friend because of the Karofsky situation so he just went into friend/mentor mode and put that attraction aside. Blaine then told Kurt that he didn't want to screw up what they had in SLS because I think he needed their friendship just as much as Kurt needed it so he wanted to be sure of his feelings before getting together with him. I don't think it was the song so much as that moment making Blaine realize that Kurt didn't need mentor!Blaine anymore and that he was a viable dating option, and that led him to realize that his feelings for Kurt were more than just loving him like a friend. That is just my interpretation though. I think that one of the writers said something about having Kurt realize that Blaine wasn't perfect so that he could fall in love with the real Blaine and not this perfect Blaine from when they first met, which is part of the reason why the Jeremiah and Rachel storylines happened. They gave Kurt the chance to see the real Blaine and fall in love with that Blaine. I would have had a problem with them getting together at Christmas time because Kurt was in love with this perfect Blaine that didn't really exist, but by OS, Kurt knew who Blaine really was. My dad saw my mom and knew immediately that was the woman he wanted to marry so I do think it is possible to go from crush at first sight to lasting love.

I don't think that Kurt always feels bad about himself when he is with Blaine. I think he is a lot happier and confident than he was in the first season. The Jeremiah thing wasn't Blaine trying to hurt Kurt since he didn't even know that Kurt was into him. The Warbler thing wasn't Blaine trying to take the spotlight from everyone since the council decided who got the leads. Once Kurt pointed it out to him with the "Blaine and the Pips" line he seemed to realize that it wasn't as fair. Yet again, 16 year olds are generally kind of selfish and unaware. The comment about being sexy was in character because Blaine is totally a foot-in-the-mouth kind of guy because he is impulsive and doesn't really think things through before doing or saying them (really, who would have thought that singing WIGYA at the GAP was a good idea?). The kilt thing was about Blaine being scared about going to a dance after what happened to him and not wanting to try attention to themselves, but he seemed to feel bad about what he said and went after Kurt (another conversation scene that would have been nice to see). Blaine wanted Kurt to get the lead and auditioned for a different role, but then was asked to read for Tony. That happened after they had already decided that they didn't want to give the role to Kurt. Blaine's facial expression showed that he wanted the role, but didn't at the same time because of Kurt.

I think first season Kurt was acting confident, but this Kurt is actually confident. Kurt seems way more comfortable with his dancing and stage presence. Kurt also seems more aware of his body as sexually appeasing based on his clothing choices and hair styles as well.

We Klainers spend forever analyzing every little scene and moment between the boys so maybe we see stuff that isn't readily apparent when you just watch the episodes one time. I don't know, but I am okay with agreeing to disagree. I don't understand the people that want Kurt and Karofsky to get together and think that has some to do with their love of Max Adler. I just want Karofsky to be happy and okay with the fact that he is gay, but I don't think he is a good match for Kurt. I just agree to disagree with those fans.

I don't think Blaine intentionally makes Kurt feel bad about himself but the fact is that he has...repeatedly. And I never saw an initial attraction from Blaine. The majority of the time they spent together he treated Kurt like a pet or a child, which I find hilarious now that we've found out that Blaine is a year younger. I do really think he wanted to help Kurt, but the longer the season went on the more I kept being reminded of the fact that he shouldn't be 'mentoring' anyone because he has a lot he needs to learn himself. If Kurt is more confident I think that's because he did that, not Blaine. I stick by what I said at the beginning. And on top of that, last season after Kurt met Blaine I pretty much couldn't stand their scenes. Watching Kurt moon over someone for the better part of a year and seem...well....kind of desperate wasn't cute or romantic to me. It felt like Finn 2.0, except this time it was with someone who was actually gay. And at least with Finn, there were a lot of good comedic moments at the beginning. With Blaine, Kurt just across as kind of sad and pathetic.

I just don't like them together, nor do I think they're good together in that capacity. We'll never agree on this, lol.

Just because he is a grade younger doesn't necessarily mean that he is a year younger. My headcanon is that he had to miss school after the Sadie Hawkins dance beating so he is behind a year in school. Until the show says otherwise, I am keeping with that headcanon. :) We can agree to disagree about the initial attraction, but I see it when he is singing "Teenage Dream" and the way he looks at Kurt while singing it. I think that when he found out about Kurt's situation that he saw himself in Kurt from when he himself was getting beat up and bullied for being gay so that is why he tried to "mentor" him. I actually think that they ended up helping each other with confidence and getting over being bullied. Blaine going to prom and switching to McKinley were things he wouldn't have been able to do before (choose to go back to a situation where he would probably be bullied). The Finn thing actually bothered me in season 1 because Kurt knew that Finn was straight and still kept going after him, which got to a point where it wasn't entertaining, but almost harrassment. At least with Blaine, he knew that Blaine was gay and he wasn't trying to push himself on Blaine so that was a sign of character development for Kurt, in my opinion.
We can definitely agree to disagree on the Blaine/Kurt relationship since I like it and you don't. My sister likes Blaine, but doesn't like Klaine because they are too sweet and fluffy for her so I am used to hearing reasons to not like them, even if they are different reasons than you have.
