They had decided to meet at the movie theatre. He could tell by the way his mother was watching him that Lily was still not pleased by the fact that Dr. Reid Oliver had made his return to town. While he would’ve loved having Reid show up at his door and walk him out to the car, just like any other ordinary first date, he knew it just wasn’t possible. Just like he knew that this wasn’t technically even a date; at least neither one confirmed it to be. Still, he couldn’t help but be nervous. While Luke had been out with Roth before, it had felt different. In a way it felt as if two friends were hanging out. He never felt scared, but now, waiting for Reid to show up, he felt as if his stomach was doing a million and one flips. He could only hope that he wasn’t setting himself up to be disappointed. There was a possibility that Reid only wanted friendship from him. Then, however, Luke would remember Reid’s words echoing back in his head, telling him in retrospect that if Luke wanted more kisses, that he would be more than happy to be the one to supply them. He only had to ask himself if that indeed was what he craved. Turning around and seeing Reid walk towards him and the entrance to the theatre, only one answer came to mind. Hell yes it was.
Luke sat in his chair, biting his lower lip in attempt to stifle his laughter. Reid was sitting to his right taking a drink from his soda; a cherry coke, which was according to him, his movie theatre drink of choice. The seat to Reid’s right was currently being occupied by his snacks, which consisted of pretzel nuggets, nachos, a hot dog, sour patch kids, milk duds, snow caps, twizzlers (the pull & peel kind), junior mints, gummy bears, and an order of deep fried oreos. Luke nearly puked at the thought. Being the gentleman he was though, Reid had insisted on sharing the popcorn, which was currently nestled between the older man’s thighs. Luke had only had a few pieces of it so far. He didn’t want to draw attention to the fact that his hand seemed to shake each time he got so close to Reid’s lap. He needn’t worry though because Reid was currently in the process of a blissed out, butter sated high.
Halfway through the movie, Luke’s hand twitched. He kept feeling the ghostly hairs of his pinky move, irritated by what was probably a migrant gnat that had been drawn to Reid’s one person feast like a moth to a flame. Feeling it again, he nearly huffed in frustration, but stopped when he glanced down. There, next to his own, was Reid’s hand, so close to his, that he had been what was causing the sensation. Luke’s breath hitched as he looked over to find Reid staring at him. To an outsider it would appear that Reid’s face held no emotion, but Luke could see the smile behind his eyes. It was then that their hands moved closer and fingers tangled together. Their hands, a perfect fit. Not but five minutes later did Luke’s head rest on Reid’s shoulder, the two snuggled inward. Reid took his other hand and ran his thumb down Luke’s cheek, turning his head upward until their noses brushed against each other. Reid nuzzled them together, silently asking for permission to which Luke granted with a diminutive nod. Reid craned his head to the size and pushed his lips against Luke’s. Even though Luke knew it was coming, he still couldn’t help the gasp that escaped, the sensation of being this close to Reid nearly overwhelming him. Reid took the opportunity and gently slipped his tongue in between Luke’s lips. There, breathing and tasting and basking in each other’s essence was how they spent the remainder of the movie.

“I’ve never made out with anyone during a movie before,” Luke said softly as they walked hand in hand through the parking lot.
“Never?” Reid questioned. Although the thought of someone else touching Luke made him feel itchy at the moment, he couldn’t believe that someone as gorgeous as Luke wouldn’t have had guys falling at his feet.
“Never,” he confirmed. “I had a boyfriend,” he said stopping by his car, “but, he didn’t really like to do things like that.”
“Things like kiss you?” he said disbelieving.
“I don’t think so. I thought maybe it was me.”
“It’s not,” Reid said quickly. “It’s not you. He apparently is just an idiot.”
“He’s not an idiot,” Luke said standing up for Roth.
Reid shook his head and said with all seriousness. “He had to be to not want to kiss you every time you two were together.”
“Well then what about you?” Luke challenged. “We’re standing here right now…..”
Reid interrupted Luke by leaning him against the door of his car, their faces just centimeters apart. “And all I’ve thought about doing since we walked out here is kissing you again,” he said huskily.
Luke swallowed and his eyes shifted between Reid’s. “Y-you were?”
Reid nodded and trailed his thumb over Luke’s pouty lips. “You have no idea how beautiful you are,” he murmured. He rested the pads of his fingers along Luke’s jaw and proceeded to kiss his cheek, his forehead, down to his nose, and then leaned forward and brushed their lips together again. It was a short, very chaste kiss; sweet and simple. The action still made Luke feel weak in the knees. He looked at Reid through glassy eyes.
“Was he your only boyfriend?”
Luke nodded.
“And when did you break up?”
“About a week and a half ago; when you….when you….”
“When I kissed you?”
“Yeah,” he said breathlessly. “You made me feel….I don’t know….wanted…in that moment.”
“And he never made you feel that way,” Reid assumed.
Luke shook his head ‘no’. “Not like that. He liked to spend time with me, but he never…he would’ve never kissed me like that.”
“Like I said,” Reid murmured, pressing another kiss against Luke’s lips, “Idiot.”
“Reid,” Luke whispered. “What is this?” he asked in all seriousness.
“It’s whatever you want it to be Luke.”
“You don’t live here,” he pointed out.
“I don’t,” he agreed.
“So is this….some fling then? Just while you’re here?”
“Whatever this turns out to be Luke, nothing with you will ever be just a ‘fling’.”
Luke stared hard at Reid searching for some untruthfulness in the statement, but all he saw was sincere honesty.
“My mom still hates you. She knows you’re back.”
“Yeah, I don’t think I was ever really her favorite person.”
“That might be an understatement,” Luke smiled.
Reid made a grunt of agreement. “Probably.”
“I’m seventeen,” Luke said shyly knowing full well that Reid knew what he was implying. “They don’t have any say what I do with anyone.”
“No, they don’t,” Reid smirked.
“You told me before that you liked me, but that we couldn’t…we couldn’t be together.” Luke closed his eyes and took a deep breath before opening them again. “Can….” He licked his lips nervously, “Can we be together now?”
“Is that what you want?”
Luke nodded.
“You have to say it.”
“I-I want you.” He ducked his head down. “If you still want me.”
Reid pulled Luke into him and hugged him tightly. He planted a kiss against his neck. “Have you ever made out in the backseat of a car Mr. Snyder?”
Luke laughed and shook his head.
“Then I think it’s about time you find out what that’s like.”

“I have a boyfriend!” Luke said excitedly, throwing himself on Noah’s bed. He loved coming to Noah’s room. He lived in the dorms and although his room was very small, he didn’t have to worry about roommates or anyone else. It was his and his alone, so naturally Luke felt like that made it his too.
Noah groaned. “Please tell me you are not back together with that….that thing.”
“No Noah,” Luke sighed. “I meant Reid.” He raised his eyebrows and grinned even more broadly.
“You slut! Tell me when, where, why, how and most importantly, did you put out yet?”
Luke rolled his eyes and threw a lone sock towards the brunette. “He took me to the movies last night. I mean, I met him there, obviously, otherwise my mother would’ve….”
“Chopped his dick off before you ever had the chance to experience it first hand,” he replied helpfully.
“Actually I was going to say otherwise my mom would’ve freaked out, but that works too.”
Noah shrugged.
“Anyway, he paid for my ticket and bought my soda and then at one point we started holding hands through the movie.”
“Jesus,” Noah murmured. “Who knew he had it in him.”
“He’s not cold Noah. Quite the opposite actually.”
“Well you being you must just seem to do it because I remember the man Luke. He wasn’t the ‘let’s hold hands and I’ll pay for your snacks’ type of guy, but go on.”
Luke huffed. “ANY-WAY, he walked me out to my car and we talked for awhile and then he called Roth an idiot….”
“Oh hallelujah at least someone else sees it.”
“Are you ever going to let me finish?” he asked frustrated.
Noah waved his hand. “I’m listening.”
“Long story short, he asked me what I wanted and I told him, him!”
“I’m proud of you Luke. Who knew you had it in you to go after what you want like that.”
“Yeah,” he said exhaling deeply. “It felt good.”
“I take it he felt the same way since you’re calling him your boyfriend?”
Luke blushed. “He pulled me into the backseat of my car so we could make out.”
“Wow, you’ve gotten more action in the past couple weeks then you have your whole life. Before you know it, his tongue will be penetrating other places too,” he said winking.
Luke started fidgeting and grew quiet. “I’m kind of nervous,” he admitted softly. “I’ve never done….anything before and he’s….”
“A God,” Noah said remembering.
Luke groaned and ran his hands over his face. “There’s no way I can compare to anyone he’s been with before. He’s going to be disappointed. I can tell. Then he’ll realize that he’s just wasting his time when he can have someone better.”
“Can I ask you a question Luke?”
“Yeah.”
“All those other people he was with in the past. Is he with them now?”
“No.”
“Have you accepted that by reputation, it can be assumed that I too, am somewhat gifted when it comes to sex?”
Luke rolled his eyes, but sighed in resignation. “Yes.”
“But he didn’t want another round with me and he’s not with those other guys now. He wants you Luke. I could tell that just from watching you two at Al’s the other day.”
“You really think so?”
“Hey,” Noah said softly, “where’s confident Luke? You know….my friend who’s completely comfortable with himself and to hell with everyone else.”
“Maybe not so confident after all,” he confessed.
“You know Reid better than I do, but would you say that he ever does anything he doesn’t want to do.”
Luke thought about it for a minute. “No.”
“Well okay then. That should settle it. He wants you because he wants you. Don’t let your insecurities get in the way of that.”
Luke nodded. “Thanks Noah.”
He ruffled Luke’s hair, earning a squawk from the younger boy. “Anytime,” he laughed.
