Fellowship (3 of 5)

*Sorry everyone. I meant to have this up last night, but the weather went batshit crazy, so here it is now! As for all my AA readers, I'm still working on it guys. I already had this written and then this past week has been insane with work, then I was sick, and next week I'm scheduled 72 hours, but I'm going to try and give you something by tomorrow night since I won't be able to write anything next week. :(

“There’s no need to be jealous Dr. Channing.”

He scoffed. “Jealous. As if I would ever be jealous of anyone beneath me. Although, you do know how much I enjoy having people under me.”

Reid rolled his eyes. “It’s almost lunch time. I’d prefer not to vomit beforehand if you don’t mind.”

“I don’t know why you’re fighting it Reid. You know you enjoyed our night together just as much as I did.”

“Newsflash crazy, it’s been months. It was a mistake, it should’ve never have happened. The day your dick goes anywhere near my ass or vice versa is the day when I’m not the youngest doctor to ever have a case study published in the New England Journal of Medicine. Oh but wait, I don’t see that happening anytime soon because frankly, that would mean someone would have to be even more amazing than I am and we both know that’ll never happen.”

William snorted. “One article and I swear you’d think you shit rainbows.”

“I’ve been working my ass off on that case study,” Reid said defensively.

“You need to have fun every once and awhile Dr. Oliver. I know that’s a foreign concept to you. I mean….I’m the best neurosurgeon in the country,” he said while earning a look from Reid, “and even I have a social life.”

“Is that what they’re calling syphilis these days?”

“Ha-ha. You’re so hilarious. Really Reid. You are.”

“For some reason I don’t really believe you mean that.”

“Maybe you’re right. But….” He stepped forward with no regards to Reid’s personal space, “you definitely have a lot of other attributes that I can appreciate.”

“Seriously? Again? Do you ever stop?”

“We could help each other, you know?”

“And what is that supposed to mean?”

“I’m just saying,” he ran his finger down Reid’s chest, “you could give me something and I could give you something, like…..more time in the OR.”

Reid’s mouth fell open. “Are you serious?”

“Is that a yes?” he smiled.

Reid straightened up and crossed his arms protectively over his chest. “Exchanging sexual favors for more time in the operating room is something that I will never do. You’re definitely barking up the wrong tree on that one. I don’t need to blow you or fuck you in order to get more surgeries. My competence and my skill will get me that alone, whether this is your department or not. If you want a piece of ass so bad, go get an intern. Me…I’m a doctor. I won’t be threatened or bullied. I’m already starting to show you up William and I haven’t even broken a sweat yet. You might want to try to not keep making yourself look like a fool.”

*

Later that evening, as Reid was making his way towards his apartment, he saw someone he hadn’t seen in years. The man turned around at the sound of footsteps and smiled at the new arrival.

“What are you doing here?” Reid asked shocked to see the man in front of him.

“Well in case you forgot, the two of us had a deal.”

Reid looked confused for a moment before remembering his agreement to meet up with Adam again in exchange for him finding out about Luke’s kidney. “We’re not in Dallas,” he pointed out.

Adam laughed. “We both know that you would never go back to Dallas . I however was in town for a case….”

“Must be some case to have to go to a different state.”

“It is,” he agreed, “but that’s beside the point. I was in town and I decided to stop in and collect.”

“How did you even know where I was?” Adam gave him an incredulous look. “Right sorry. Dumb question. You can find out anything.”

“That I can.” He gave Reid an appreciative look. “You look good; older.”

“Sorry about that,” he said sarcastically. “Couldn’t stay young forever.”

“And as charming as I remember.”

Reid laughed. “You really came all this way to sleep with me again?”

“I wasn’t lying Reid. I really do have a case here I’m helping an old friend work on. Knowing that you were nearby was just an added incentive.” Reid nodded apologetically. “You okay?” Adam asked concerned.

“Yeah, I’m fine. It’s just been a long day.”

“Hey Reid, we don’t have to do anything. Another time?” he said optimistically.

“No,” he shook his head. “Let’s….go get a drink or something.”

Adam hesitated. “Okay. Sounds good.”
