Martel's outfit is no particular divergence from his usual style (why does a teenage boy wear cufflinks--oh, because his parents are just as nuts as he is, nevermind), but he does take note of Maria's when he emerges from the house. "You look good," is the most comment it gets, but hey, usually his comments about her clothing involve the words 'why isn't there more of it', so.
Maria beams, so she's probably well-aware of how sparing compliments from Martel tend to be in most circumstances. "Hi! And thank you. It goes with the garters." >:3
She is very good and waits until they're actually next to the car to kiss him hello, in part because practically speaking if she ends up pushed up against anything it's probably best if it isn't his parents' house. ...this is rather at odds with how they do certain other things in his room which has NO DOOR but look, she picks and chooses when she wants to be sane and you should all be grateful for those brief intervals.
Of course he is extraordinarily grateful for those intervals, and it's also possible he just likes pushing her up against the car. Luckily (for his neighbors) at some point they actually do have to get in the car and leave.
Well, it's not like Maria minds being up against the car, either. Before they head on their way, though, she has the presence of mind to ask a question that is fast becoming their ritual: "Do you want to drive?"
...maybe she's trying to put him in as good a mood as possible before they get to Dr. Murray's.
If she is, he's not going to call her on it. "Absolutely. Keys?" His mood as it stands is...not any worse than his usual default mood, but he does seem restless.
She hands them over, and goes to snag the passenger seat for herself. Naturally, she kicks her high heels off as soon as she's in, and sets her legs up on the dash.
Ah, driving. It takes him a few to actually respond to her -- as before he can even start the car the seat needs to be adjusted, he does have rather longer legs than she does -- but after that he does, moving out into the street. "Not very much. It's quiet, we don't know as many people here as we did in Denver."
Maria rattles off a list of directions--it's not actually far, fortunately--and then leans the seat all the way back so she can re-adjust her garters without flashing passerby.
You know, so she's just flashing Martel, pretty much.
"Mmhmm. Do you want me to try to help out?" She raises her eyebrows at him. "We've got an extra ten minutes, usually there's a bunch of time of hanging out in the waiting room."

"You seem amped," she comments, watching him.

He...may already know that, but she likes reiterating it.
