the new girl in town.

Mel Hawkins was all prepared for her first day at school. She'd visited the hairdressers on Friday, gone shopping on Saturday, and spent most of Sunday finding out everything she could about the school and the students that went to the school. She hadn't found out nearly as much as she liked, but she'd discovered enough to decide that it wasn't nearly as good as the schools she'd gone to in the past. Half of the school was on scholarship, for heaven's sake. What use was that to her?

She'd arrived early on Monday morning for school (first and last time, people, first and last time), and had been given her schedule and all the information she needed to start off her day. She'd smiled and battered her lashes and asked stupid questions, and finally she was ushered out to wait for the student that had been organised to give her a tour of the place. She leant against the wall, carefully checking out her outfit while she waited. She'd pushed the letter of the dress code - her black skirt could only loosely be defined as 'knee length', and her white blouse was very closely tailored to hug her body. Black tights and black ankle boots finished off the look, and she was currently wearing a black leather jacket over the top of it. She was two seconds away from taking out her mirror to check her lip gloss as well, but she'd wait just a little longer to see if this guide was going to show up.
