Jensen slumped with a tired moan onto the hard wooden bench under the tree, the small heart shaped box clutched in his trembling hands.
The familiar looping script brought a pang of longing to his thundering heart. He carefully rest the red velvet, ribbon wrapped box on his distended belly his thoughts casting back to a happier time.

Jensen sucked in a moan as Jared nibbled at the sensitive lobe of his ear, Jared’s hot breath tickling the short hairs at the nape of his neck.
“Jare...please,” he whined as Jared’s hard length ground into his hip as Jared shifted above him.
Jared’s intense gaze transfixed him, his breath catching high in his throat at the swell of emotion Jared’s hungry, yet loving look caused.
“You sure,” Jared whispered before leaning in to capture Jensen’s lips in a heated kiss.
Jensen met Jared’s gaze, putting everything he felt for the beautiful man above him in his look.
“Yes,” Jensen answered with a soft smile.
Jared’s own smile lit his face in a way that had Jensen blushing deeply at his enthusiasm.
“I love you, you know that, right?” Jared questioned, his gaze intensely searching Jensen’s for answer.
“I know....I lov....,” Jensen’s reply was swallowed in Jared’s passionate kiss that stole Jensen’s breath and had him arching up into Jared urging him to give him more of himself than he ever had before.

Jensen shook himself out of his reverie, his vision blurring his view of the delicate box sitting atop his very pregnant belly.
They had thought they had years to explore their blossoming relationship before they would have to think about separation for school. Jared had talked about applying to the local colleges so he could stay here instead of accepting the offer for Stanford. He had told Jensen that he was more important to him than any school could ever be.
Jensen rubbed at his roiling belly, his son clearly feeling his distress.
“Sorry buddy, Daddy’s just being a wuss as usual. Maybe that’s why your Papa left us without saying goodbye,” Jensen mused as he continued to soothe his son with his circling hand.
“Though, I don’t think he would have left you. Your Papa’s a better man than that. I just wish I had a chance to tell him,” Jensen sighed as he looked back at the box in his hand.
“Maybe this is our chance to find out,” Jensen told his unborn son with a final pat to his huge belly.
Taking in as deep a breath as he was able, Jensen carefully pulled the ribbon off the box and released the envelope with his name scribed across it in Jared’s unmistakable script. With suddenly sweating hands he opened the envelope to reveal a Valentines Card inside.
The design was simple, a red back ground with two interlinking hearts to one corner. With shaking hands he opened the card. Inside was a folded piece of paper. Biting his lip, Jensen closed his eyes hoping that inside would be an explanation for Jared’s sudden disappearance six months earlier. With a heavy sigh he opened his eyes to read Jared’s looping script.
Jensen,
I know you must think that I abandoned you when I left. I need you to know that’s not true. My parents gave me a letter days before we left. They told me it was from you. I stupidly believed them. It wasn’t until two weeks ago that I learned differently.
I’m so sorry Jensen. I thought you didn’t love me anymore and the things in that letter...well, it doesn’t matter because it wasn’t true. I know you will still be mad, but please think about forgiving me for not knowing that you would never do that to me. I didn’t want to confront you in person straight away because I figured you would need to time to work out how you feel about all this. Chad told me that a lot has happened for you in the last six months and hinted that I’m the cause of some of that. I so sorry Jensen. I never meant to hurt you. That was the last thing I ever wanted to do.
Please, if there is any ounce of the love you felt for me before still there will you come and see me? My new address is in the card. It’s not much of a place but it’s mine and you are welcome any time. I transferred to a college out here and will start up again next year. I figured getting some work and settling myself in would give us a chance to see if we could make it work again.
I hope I see you soon. I have miss you so damn much. You are my world Jensen and even if I can’t be yours again right now, please know that I will wait for you for as long as you need.
Love always,
Jared
Jensen wiped at the tears that were slipping silently down his cheeks.
Jared still loved him.
He hadn’t abandoned them.
Jared was here in the city, just two blocks away to be exact.
Jensen pushed himself awkwardly up off the wooden bench, silently cursing his ungainly belly, then patting it apologetically.
“Sorry buddy, I know you can’t help it that you’ve made Daddy all fat and clumsy. I hope Papa won’t be too shocked when he sees us, but I’m glad Chad didn’t tell him. He deserves to meet you for himself,” Jensen apologised with a self conscious grin.
Shoving the letter into his jacket pocket Jensen took a moment to orientate himself then started to waddle off in the direction of the address Jared had given him. The red velvet box of chocolates forgotten and scattered across the grass in front of the bench behind him.

Jensen wiped his sweaty palms down the sides of his jacket for what felt like the hundredth time in the last ten minutes that he had been standing on the stoop of Jared’s building. His hand’s shook with nervousness as he reached up to push at the intercom for Jared’s unit.
“Yeah?” Jared’s tinny voice answered from the battered speaker.
“Jared, is that really you?” Jensen asked as he pressed the intercom, his voice wavering as his emotions got the best of him and tears filled his eyes.
“Jensen! Oh my god, Jensen...wait there I’m coming do...,” Jared shouted his voice cutting off abruptly.
Jensen couldn’t help the huge smile that spread across his face as he heard Jared’s heavy steps pounding down the staircase.
Within moments the front door opened with a rush of long limbs and flying hair. The only thing that stopped them both tumbling to the ground when Jared wrapped himself around Jensen was Jared’s quick footwork.
“Jensen, you’re here, I can’t believe you’re really here,” Jared gushed between smothering Jensen’s face with kisses.
“I’m really here and so are you. I...its been so long...I...,” Jensen stuttered as he tried to regain his composure at seeing Jared in the flesh.
“I’m so sorry Jen, I didn’t know. The letter it...I know it’s not real...god I was so stupid...I can’t believe I didn’t work it out..I...I’m sorry,” Jared rushed his words tripping over each other as he tried to apologise.
“Jared hey? It’s okay. It wasn’t your fault, I know that. I’m just glad you’re here,” Jensen reassured him with a soft smile.
“Me too,” Jared replied as he pulled Jensen in for a tight hug.
Jensen’s blood ran a little cold when Jared suddenly went rigid in his arms and quickly pulled back to look down as Jensen’s bulging belly.
“Jen...are you...are you pregnant?” Jared asked his eyes comically wide in shock.
Jensen swallowed nervously, his previous happiness at see Jared suddenly vanishing at the prospect of Jared’s rejection.
“Yeah....surprise,” Jensen smiled weakly as he pulled his heavy jacket back to fully reveal his gravid belly.
Jared’s gaze transfixed on Jensen belly, his face pale with his shock.
“Do you...do you mean it’s...it’s mine?” Jared whispered his eyes slowly trailing up to met Jensen’s.
Jensen looked deep into Jared’s stunned gaze, desperately searching for any hint of rejection. When he found nothing but amazement, he took a deep breath and nodded with a tentative smile.
The huge smile that split Jared’s face had Jensen sighing in relief.
“Really?” Jared asked as he stepped back into Jensen’s space to gently place his hands on either side of Jensen’s belly.
Jared’s eyes gleamed with happiness as their son chose that moment to kick out at Jared’s bracing palm.
“Oh my god Jen, I...this is...you are...amazing,” Jared gushed his voice shaking with emotion.
“I love you so damn much. You are not leaving my sight for anything,” Jared declared as he leaned in to kiss Jensen soundly. His hands caressing the sides of Jensen’s roiling belly as their son told his Papa the only way he could, that he loved him too.
