This is probably gonna be very short because Ive only seen one episode. The other episodes have not been subbed yet
This anime is shoenen, though some may find it hard to believe with shots such as above. In any rate, the story (from Bakupdates) is as follows
One of the noble families of England: Phantomhive's butler: Sebastian Michaels has got unquestionably perfect knowledge, manners, talent with materials, martial arts, et cetera: but is also able to serve a 12 year-old master.
Wearing a grey tailcoat, gracefully brewing the world's strongest red tea, please read on to see how such a perfect butler copes with such a master...
As it stands, Sebastian is also a demon, though if he has a different form I have yet to say.
I guess I have an interest in the old Victorian style story which is what caught my interest, that and it looked to be the sort of quirky yet dark humour that I was looking for
Basically this episode was set up with introducing the characters, in particular Sebastian (the butler and Ciel, the master of the house
As you may have guessed, Ciel has the personality of one much older than his years. Maybe you'd have to be if you have to control the business. I don't think we've been given information about his parents yet, or what happened
Those who have seen Ouran will recognize the voice as Maaya Sakamoto, who voiced Haruhi. I think part of the reason why I liked Haruhi was how she sounded like. I think she pulls off the intimidating voice pretty well here.
As for Sebastian, well I'm looking foreword to the action scenes since he's apparently good at that.
Bullets are in his hand.
The other characters are nice enough, As it stands they are the source of humour.. partially due to competence, among other things. The maid, to no surprise, gets nervous and stuff when Sebastian gets close
They probably don't know who he really is XD
Those who have seen Sweeny Todd may find a particular scene familiar, though I do have to wonder what actually happened, because the guy is still clearly alive after everything. Perhaps they were just messing with his head? They seem to be rather good at that.
Interesting enough the ending song is in English, and as for the OP, well, I can get used to it, I'm not quite sure if the lyrics fit though XD
Ironically enough I found out about the anime very shortly after catching a glimpse of the manga which intrigued me.
If you were to ask me whether I prefer manga to anime, then generally I would prefer to watch anime.. for a couple of reasons
1. I love martial arts. Martial Arts is best seen with movement as opposed to still images (though to the budget I guess I haven't come across many which go into great detail, sadly)
2. I think alot of things are more effective with the right musical background in terms of atmosphere and whatnot
