it's like a theremin, always there kind of wailing in the background or at the front, depending if the singer wants to take a cigarette break or not or has vowed off words for this set...it never goes away, never takes a break, just your perception changes depending whether or not you're paying attention to that part of the song...kind of tragi-comic if overdone, but unsettling and just pretty enough to catch your ear and make you wonder "why?" but you know it will always be there, it doesn't stop, it fades in and out, and in and in especially when the singer is actively taken up puffing his way to a gravelly voice to sell millions only after he's killed himself with it.

yeah, it is kind of like that.
