Stupid Aunt is tearing family apart
A high school friend that married my cousin (mom's side) unfriended me a month ago on FB.
I thought it was strange that Valerie had grown quiet. I thought she was taking a break or was ill, but when I see her profile it says "ADD FRIEND."
Sean called back in early June. Since I've blocked him on my cell and use my landline as a filter that I never answer, he called my dad asking if my bother and I had signed the probate court papers so my aunt could essentially take my brother's and my share of the inheritance. I was about to shower that day, but I heard Dad giving Sean the third (fuck, the fourth) degree through the bathroom wall. He told him that both of us will not sign the papers, my brother flat-out refuses to do anything. The courts can bring him the papers but he just tosses them or uses them for rolling papers. Then Dad said to leave us the hell alone, that he doesn't care if my aunt and Sean lose the house to the state, and that if they want it, then they can get it the RIGHT way: take out a loan and pay my brother and me our share and we'll sign the papers.
Well, it looks like my mother's side of the family is as dead as she is to us. I haven't had contact with my other uncle or cousins in a few years and now my cousin's wife unfriended me. I just wanted my mom's sister and her 2 offspring out of my life, but I didn't want to lose contact with the others. After that phone call, she probably threw a tantrum and said we were major assholes so now my mom's brother and his kids, my cousins, are cutting off ties with us as well. It really upset me because with the exception of greedy aunt and her son, I liked my uncle and other cousins.
And all of this because my mom's sister is so damn selfish and greedy over a house.
