today I: got lost again, but found the coffee machine which is my landmark, vaporized yttrium, barium flouride, and copper by electron beam in a vacuum chamber, sat around and whatnot, dropped more science in the afternoon, went kyaking. it was fire.

I want to add one more thing about light: electric fields and magnetic fields can be thought of as two dimensional planes. If you have an electric field, it induces a magnetic field perpendicularly. It makes sense to me (and probably most people since at a young age we are introduced to such things) that both magnetic and electric fields should be able to travel through a medium-less space.

now, if you vary the intensity of the electric field like a sinusoidal wave, therefor "inducing" a magnetic field of a similar nature (sinusoidal) that is perpendicular to the electric field you have electro-magnetic propagation. At certain wavelengths/frequencies you have visable light. At certain wavelengths/frequencies you have radio waves, microwaves, ultraviolet and cosmic radiation.

See...there isn't a physical thing being "waved"....it's more like the intensity is changing in a wave-like way. Perhaps I can find a webpage that illustrates this.

The lambda represents wavelength.
