GERMANY PICS

Aug 16, 2005 09:14

I finally have my pictures from Germany. Because there are so many, I'm going to have to post them in sets.

So here is Germany pictures post #1. This post will be featuring pictures from the town I stayed in. Of course we traveled all over, but we called Luneburg home for one month.

The City

Downtown Luneburg.

Downtown Luneburg.

LOOK! A tiny eco car. Not all the cars in Germany are that small, but I will tell you that we only saw one SUV the whole time we were there.

Gothic church in Luneburg. Keep in mind that during the time period, the more booming the church-the closer they felt to God. Hence, the massiveness.

The Ilmenau River, which runs through Luneburg.

An old water tower that now stands as a museum.

An aerial view of Luneburg from the top of the water tower.

The Rathaus (or courthouse). This building has rooms in it that date back to the 13th century.

This is Pons, the oldest brewery in Luneburg.

Me in front of a purdy building.

The People

Here is our lovely classroom. As you can see, we are waiting for our professor to engross us in new knowledge about European Monetary Policy and the European Union. PFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFT.

Me in front of some crazy billboard.

U.P.S. a la Deutschland!!!

Here I am sampling my first taste of German alcohol. It was a nice shot of Jaegermeister that was so thick it dripped down the sides of the glass like cough syrup. It sent goosebumps all over me for a good 5 minutes afterward.

Here are Erika and Gilbert having their first samplings as well.

Here is a picture of my German host student trying to help Joanna read a menu.

Audrey is hunting for a bargain.

Nick is contemplating the deepest, most inner thoughts of his mind....otherwise known as styrofoam.

The Irish Pub

If you look ever so closely, you will see an old, drunk man on the stage belting out karaoke. Yep, that's one of my professors.

Audrey and I.

Joanna and Lydia.

And last but certainly not least: While we were there our roommates threw an authentic German Fussball Table party! Weeeee!

Here is a picture of our German roommates battling each other.

Joanna joins in.

More Fussball.

Stefan and Susa (once again roommates).
