Ahem.

Once upon a time I had a Diaryland page. And I posted there regularly. It's still there, but Diaryland is passe now, and I can't use Diaryland to access any well-written fanfiction (i.e. porn), so I'm not going back. Nor am I ever going to link to it, because I remember posting some angsty entries that now cause me embarrassment to recall. I did ( Read more... )

Hey there. I'd like to throw a "friending" on your page, but not if it would make you uncomfortable. I've seen comments you've made on rantie_rei's entries, and...somewhere else. A KakaIru comm maybe? I swung by your page out of idle curiousity, and I'll be damned if this isn't the first time I've wanted to friend someone based on comments and a horse shit profile anecdote.

I'll follow your lead on the friending business- LiveJournal isn't my usual internet stomping grounds. I spend most of my time at y!gallery, and I need to keep in mind that many people write personal things or put pictures up on their friends-locked posts, so I won't be offended if you'd rather not "friend" a total stranger. I will say, I very rarely post journal entries. I usually post-date my fiction so it won't pop up on people's pages (I'm LJ-shy!!) and hardly ever write, "Hey guys, guess what's up with me!" entries.

I just have it in my head that the several times a month I remember that I have a live journal account I'd like to be notified if "stinky horowitz" has produced any entries or fiction. And...this just might be long enough to send now 8D

Very cool. Friend away! I always keep in mind that anyone can read what I put out there, so that's why I've been slow to post things. I'm still mentally trying to find the line between "trainwreck" and "light entertainment". My first impulse is always to let my ass hang out in the breeze, but that's not really healthy. So. Second and third thoughts on every post, which is why I don't write the "what's up with me" entries.

But there's just something about the difference between total stranger and friend being a button click away that attracts me to LJ. I think it's funny. And that's the first I've heard back on the horse-shit story, so thanks! Aaaand I'll send now.

You know what I find the most dangerous for me, personally, is the impetus of the internet-adrenaline-rush without the keep-it-in-check safety valve of being face-to-face with whoever you're "talking" to. And I just used waaaaaaaaaay to much-of-this-kind-of-thing x___x. Flirtations, arguments, and discussions revealing personal details can go waaaaaaay further than intended because of that anonymous, adrenaline-fueled rush of type-type-type SEND, READ, type-type-type SEND, READ, etc.

At y!gallery there's no false feeling of things being "locked", there's an edit button for your comments, and it's pretty tightly moderated as far as treatment of other users ("harassment", even without specifically naming another user, will get you an instant, 2-week suspension. After three violations you're banned).

But! Livejournal has a much more cozy/dangerous atmosphere- in my opinion. You can get lulled into feeling like you're among friends, and that your conversations are "private", and then WHAM!!! INSTA-DRAMA!!!

I need the LJ, though...some writers only post here (like my new, intimate pal-via-button-click stinky_horowitz <3) and you can't read about the ladies on y!gallery. Also, sometimes I'm in the mood for shortfic, and that's frowned on at y!

I am sooooooooooo on standby for that first ass-hanging-out-in-breeze "guess what's up with me" entry of yours XD

Thanks for the friending ^______^ I swear to you that writing essay comments on your Ahem entry isn't going to be my new hobby.
