OKAY first of all corey and i had the greatest weekend since our honeymoon! we went to a nice resturant at port warwick called light, its one of those places that's really fancy (though we're the only people dressed up) and wehre you get small portions of food for a huge price. but we saviored every bite. it was the best food we've ever tasted. i had rockfish mixed with mashed potatos w/ crab meat and oysters in it and had a sause all over it. YUMMIES! corey had the 5 course meal and he gave me some of it. we were so stuffed we both fell asleep when we got home. the next day we went to norfolk's mc karthers mall and had a fun time there espically at the discorvery store and the massage store. i feel in love with the 5,000 dollar chair that actually knows your shape and weight and adjust to it. we had cheese cake at the cheese cake factory, went to the music store there, and then saw stranger than fiction movie with will farrow (it was very good actually, has more dry sense of humor and a wonderful plot. i almsot cried). then we went home and enjoyed our evening together.
monday i started work. i'm more of a shipper/ receiver rather than a warehouse stocker. the process to send packages is long and tedious. you have to keep a very close eye on everything to make sure you dont' make mistakes. i've made a few but likely many were not a big deal, but still its a habit i don't like to keep. i want to be perfect at my job and then some. its seems to be doing alright though, lot more heavy lifting though i got to get back into lifting weights again. i have to be able to handle 50 lbs on my own. i really don't like recieving help from the guys, makes me feel as if i'm not doing my job. i get paid to do my work and not to have others help me. so far everyone one is nice to me espically the president of the company. he already added up my paycheck for the week and gave it to me so i can get christmas gifts if i need to and i also got ham from the company. wow! its nice to be loved. though i'm being trained by 2 people, a shipper/ reciever wallie from the desk side up front, and david in the warehouse with me. so wallie doesn't think david is doing everythying properly and wishes for me to learn more and out do him. while david thinks wallies ways are stupid and is always in his way. so of course i'm caught in the middle not sure which way to go. plus since david is usually the only back person he's the only one who knows whatz going on so if i come back ther i'm not sure what these random boxes on the floor are for. so i guess i have to help with the communication gap, and the keeping an eye on shipments coming in and out.since they seemed to be oeverlooked.
over all i'm starting to like it. its hard not to know what your doing just yet. there's so much to learn and it keeps getting more complex. i freaked the spainish girls out today, i spoke simple "pardon me" and "thank you" to them and they thought i can understant every thing they say and though i was essdropping on their converstations. i thought it was funny. i can barely speak a few sentences. ha. but i told some of the girls i wish to learn more and if they co8uld help me. they said sure. woot!
everyone have a great turkey day i get a 4 day weekend so there will be plenty of eating and sleeping. night! i want cookies.
