Someone come get me!

Right after my last post I grabbed Cory and Bri and hauled them into the BIG office.  We watched the chaos from the second story window.....  Man do people panic in a crisis!  From our vantage point we watched person after person try to hold off the zombies, and one after the other went down.  Thankfully I have plenty of knowledge (and fear) of them to know better than to try to get past a hungry hoard of brain-eating creatures.  We watched the news for a while until the cable must have gone out, then it got real quiet.  There was no internet connection, either.  Cell phone reception was spotty by then too.  I'm sure it was because anyone still capable of using one was using it.

At 5:00 the office doors lock from the inside so, unless there were any left in the building, we were now alone.  We could hear them banging on the doors downstairs and moaning.  I thought it must be the end of the world if they were hungry enough to wander the streets in broad daylight.  Cory decided to check out the situation, so he sneaked into the hallway and we locked the door behind him.  His last words were "If I'm not back in 10 minutes, get the hell out of here any way you can".  Well, 10 minutes came and went and no Cory.  Damn... there must be more inside.  We needed to get out quick.

I grabbed my laptop and listened at the door for a full 5 minutes before deciding it was safe.  Thank goodness there's a back door straight down to the car.  We tiptoed down the halls and made it down the back stairs without seeing anyone.  We could see my car less than 10 yards away, but there were a couple of people milling about in the parking lot.  We couldn't tell if they were infected or not!  They finally wandered off and we made a dash for the car.  Thank goodness we made it!  Now where to go??

Home wasn't an option.  I was almost afraid to start the car that the noise might alert them that we were out there.  Crap!  We didn't have a choice.  We had to go.  But to where?  Then I had an idea.  I knew a back road from the office to the airport, which is only a mile or so away.  I knew there would be people and cops at the airport so we headed over there.  We had a teeny little incident on the way, though...  Is it still murder if you run over a zombie?  My car hood will never be the same.  Yuck.

Well, I was right.  There were plenty of people AND cops there.  Unfortunately there was also an angry, hungry mob of flesh-eaters to contend with.  Uhh, no thanks.  We kept driving.

We're now parked in an empty parking lot at the beach.  Huntington, to be exact.  I'm afraid to drive any further and now my stomach is rumbling.  Bri is a nervous wreck and I can't calm her down.  We have water and a wireless satellite connection.  I need to think.  What next?
