In the middle of the ocean

I'm going to stop paddling for a little while to write in my journal, I know Sokka wouldn't want it any other way. He is my boy after all!

Today was a rough day. I had left the Fire Nation Palace after my kids had left for Ba Sing Se earlier in the day due to one final meeting that they had had scheduled for the day. Thankfully, it was short enough for me to be on my way by late afternoon and I bid them good farewells as I left. It felt nice keeping a noble head after all of their petty insults about my Tribe and I was sure I caught that Jiko glaring at me. Not that it mattered, the snobby coot probably did that to everyone who came back to bite him, but I kept my own smile warm. After denying the help of a few persistant servants, I carried my supplies back to the small canoe I had brought here on my own and rigged it for the journey ahead. Commuting back to the rendevouz point wouldn't be that easy, especially with the current against me like how it was. Luckily I do many chin touches a several times a day, otherwise this boat would be nothing but a hassle to work with when you're trying to beat a deadline. I'll have to make a new boat when I get back home, the hide is worn and stiff from the foreign salts.

I've already been paddling for quite a while and this rest is more relieving than what I would have thought. Now that I look I can see that the sun's gone down and the moon is just barely visible...

I told them to keep the lead-lamp of the ships lit so they wouldn't be too hard to find in the darkness. Bato and the others should be expecting me tonight.

It's time to keep going. Especially if I want to make it there by morning, ha!
