Hi there!

Hey, I'm just as surprised as anyone else. Turns out my mum took Perpetua home and let her loose in the garden. It's been a blast to see the rabbit nibbling at mushrooms near the flower plots while my dad snoozes on his hammock and my younger brother pumps iron in the gazebo. I've even spied Perpetua nosing about on the patio under my brother, who's lounging on the outdoor sofa playing Guitar Hero. My mother complains about Perpetua a lot, but I chalk it up to mothers who see the effort of complaining an act of love. Or something. I don't know, she's constantly on me to clean up my room and bathroom even when it's... habitable.

The best part of these past two days of hell-at-work is the other happy find in the garden:

My budding tomato plants.

I was greatly inspired by scififanatic, who has turned much of her U-shaped greenery into an industrious vegetable garden. She was so effervescent when sharing her excitement that I was instantly sold. Unfortunately, having a rabbit rules out growing the vegetables directly into the ground. Good thing then that we have plenty of options: growing in pots, hanging on tree branches, growing inside the raised stone walled-off garden. I can't wait till I can move the tomatoes to larger containers and see whether homegrown is as good as everyone says.

real life, perpetua
