I wish I could get a closer look -- the claims sound pretty amazing!

I don't know about you but this smacks of a cheap publicity stunt! I would've celebrated if someone actually came out with a robot that could do
something impressive...pull a rickshaw maybe? Make Jhal muri with a shake and a flourish perhaps? Instead we have this miracle of technology which can do "EVERYTHING according to the human voice command"....detect "COMPLEX THINGS"...has three amazing fingers with which it can apparently grasp "ALL objects"....and the list of vague, dubious claims goes on, culminating in the preposterous "may compete with the world-class humanoid robots developed by the technologically rich countries"

Compete in what exactly, I ask.

And then there's this - "..The young scientist said he was discussing with an Australian software firm Tachhands for funding
but the firm demanded the copyright of the invention in exchange of the fund..."

Really? How come a google search brings up exactly zilch about this so called software firm which is so excited about acquiring the "COPYRIGHT" of the invention! Who copyrights an invention anyway...aren't they supposed to be..er...PATENTED!??

But I still wanted to believe there was some substance to this so went to the source of the article...discovered this...and that was the last straw...!

"The inventor of IRobo compared the robot with the world-class robot Asimo developed by the Japanese company Honda that could move four kilometers per hour on its feet but IRobo could move five kilometers per hour on its automation system"
This proves without a shadow of a doubt that if this guy isn't a fraud then at he's either grievously misinformed or downright ignorant!

Bipedal locomotion was a Holy Grail of humanoid robots! It's a miracle of "bio-engineering" that we humans do it so effortlessly and it was the dream of roboticists everywhere to build a robot that could emulate it. Asimo was Honda's remarkable breakthrough project that astonished the world ( and followed by sony and other companies ) So many advances had to take place before it became possible - advances that allowed the creation of motors small enough to fit in
a leg, powerful enough to move it along, efficient enough to carry itself, the robot and its own power source...advances in computing that allowed the complex balancing act that is bipedal motion to be analyzed and made to work through precise control of such motors...what inventor worth his salt would flippantly discount all this and add insult to injury by boasting how his "automation system" ( which runs on mundane WHEELS ) goes "faster"...there's no
no basis for comparison!

Conclusion: I need a whole lot of convincing with descriptions a lot more more precise than "it can do everything" before I buy into any of this!
