i had an interesting lunch today. it taught me that my friend hayley was right when she said i had a "refreshingly down-to-earth" view on life. the girl i had lunch with was a lot more high-maintenance than i remembered her being, and we had a lot less in common than i remembered too. all she really talked about were her european friends and how 'prestigious' her school is and what sort of clientele she prefers to work with, and she acted like my questions about her year were stupid. oh well. milkshakes melt, people change. it made me glad that i made friends with drumline kids first and not snotty sorority girls. sometimes i get a little jealous of people who have summer cottages in denmark and internships in ireland and can leave their gucci shoes in a club without caring, but all that doesn't really matter because i love where i am in life right now and i can't wait to get back to my friends at school in the good ol' midwest.
