Wow. So once upon a time I liked WoW. (These journal entries are getting increasingly negative, I have been noticing.) But then I had to lose sleep for an expansion that I'm not playing at least until the summer when my money gets a little more... free.

Working the Final Fantasy XII midnight release was cake. I was as obsessed as the people who were waiting outside. But WoW? I don't play anymore. All I could do was sympathize, because it was below freezing and icy in Texas. It was dangerous to go out of doors in a car, kinda. It was horrible to have to stand out there, and we tried to help them as much as we could, ringing them up early so we could do a speed line, not kicking them out of the store, but letting them slowly meander back out into the cold before we let them in 2-by-2 at midnight...

But then the nerdfaces in the front of the line decided they needed to stick their heads in and ever-so-eloquently yell "OMG PLZ CAN U LET US IN WE R FUCKING FREEZING :D ONLY 5 MIN LEFT PLZ PLZ PLZZZZZ". I think our responses were something like, "Be glad we're not in Canada! :D" And then we made sure to lock the door. I think someone told the guy something about being thankful we weren't Yankees or something, but I didn't hear the whole thing.

And getting them out wasn't so bad, except that poor Jason didn't know how to ring up a reserve, and it kinda slowed the process down at the beginning. And it did go fast... eventually, but the whole ordeal still took 2 hours.

...Also fun were the people who snuck in without having reserves, trying to convince us to sell a game for which we didn't even have enough copies to cover reserve. They were like junkies or something. :D

And then I had an 8 AM class and wished that it was still Christmas break. The End.

gamestop, wow, gaming, work
