For some of you this link is pretty redundant, but if you want a good source of security information in general, not to mention important info on where the government starts crossing the line in the pursuit of security at the expense of peoples' privacy, may I recommend the Bruce Schneier lj syndication of his blog. Normally I don't plug, but given recent news involving warrantless wiretaps and such, well, these links are becoming much more of an essential read for everyone.
(And yes, this stuff is mostly American in scope, and I'm aware that Canada likely has measures on the books that allow equally bad things to be done to the populace, but historically, Canada seems to have been much more measured in the exercise of such crazy powers...)
