From 102.5 The Shark to Beach 104

Sat in the school library today listening to the radio, trying to get some homework done from the night before. Some mischievous student had just changed the station from the usual country oldies. “I saw the sun” starts playing and I close my calculus book completely forgetting which problems we were suppose to do. I never listen to the radio. I used to hate it, no variety. In this small town it was either; bad R&B, country, or oldies. But now that the oldies stations are starting to play what I grew up with, its more like traveling down memory lane than annoying noise in the background on a long ride occasionally drowning in static. The three middle school girls just came out of their hiding corner when Madonna’s “there she goes again” started playing, carrying their three month old editions of seventeen. Ah middle school, I don’t remember ever wanting to skip lunch (no matter how gross) everyday to read about beauty secrets and sex tips just between S and T.

After six pence none the richer I notice that I even miss the commercials. I love how their voices are so much more animated then any average person could get away with. The mattress commercial is advertising “Both Sides Of The Mattress!”

Wow, Weezer started playing. I remember when we saw them live with Jon like 4 years ago. That was a great weekend. To Jon everything was “the best”, the best concert, the best people, the best lamb at the best little restaurant the next morning. He ended up going to school there.

David Gray’s “Babylon”, I was just listening to this last night. Lots of memories there too.

I really don’t like funerals.

A guy I dated for over a year is married now.
