Okay, gotta rant. And be defensive.

And the Ashley bit was added in there because I've noticed among some people there tends to be this idea of "Ashley vs. Vanessa", that if you like one you feel like you have to hate the other (probably influenced by the Sharpay vs. Gabriella dynamic in the movies), and I've heard the mentaility/arguement "I hate Vanessa! Ashley's sooooo much cooler!!!" before.
And you do make a good point about her being older. I'm embarassed to say I hadn't really thought of that, and judged them as equals here (except in that instance of Miley being naiieve) since the age group their fan base is targeted to be is the same. And given the time it came out it, it was judged as if she had taken it like the day before, so yeah I guess I can understand a bit better now (although I still don't agree or like it, it doesn't seem as "well the hell are people thinking!??" now...).
On Jamie-Lynn, I dicussed up earlier with lizwinlove that I didn't intially "blame" her for getting pregnant, it was from a news source I heard that she had made some comment about wanting a baby and being excited to raise it, and never mentioning that it had been an accident or promoting safe sex.
XD And I mentioned Carly there because even though I did use the word on occassion before, whenever I see/use this word, I can't help but think of the scene where Carly&co. were talking to a group of girls to get them to watch iCarly, and the girls bash it for not being reviewed on Nevelocity.com and walk away, and Carly gets the cute pout on her face and says "She irks me!" XD
I actualy did see the photos myself, but although Miley did look a bit off I thought (and I suppose assumed, as the magazine I was reading wasn't tabloid but one of my mother's celebrity magazines--though given OK's rumours about Vanessa getting kicked out of HSM3, I do suppose I should take even them with a grain of salt) it was just because she wasn't all done up for a shoot or concert or TV. Although I fully admit I don't follow Miley devoutly, so maybe my information is off, but in my defense, I don't think it's anymore skewed than the Vanessa bashers on the site this rant stemmed from.
But yes, the Vanity Fair photos were totally blown out of proportion. I'm not that huge a fan of Miley, but I definitely felt for her with all the crap she was getting for something that really wasn't that risque or slutty at all. Not to mention she wasn't the one who had the power to approve the shoot anyway. It can't be easy to be her. :( (or any of these young celebs for that matter)
But I respect your opinion on the issue and appriciate you commenting as always, despite our differing opinions. I apologize if I came off harsh on Miley, or if the information I had on her was incorrect.

Thank you. I thought it was rather smart m'self. Even if it's just pointing out other people's way of thinking - even if it's stupid. (because the fact people don't realize it was not recent is a very bad, stupid thing)
Well, if that was the comment, it might've been taken out of context, because I've always wanted a baby and would be thrilled to raise one if I were to become pregnant, even if I realized how awful the timing was. So saying she's excited about being a mother, I think, is totally different from trying to get pregnant. And really, even if she is a role model, is it really her place to be promoting safe sex? I always thought she was handling it more with a "these are the consequences and I'm dealing with them" kind of mentality.
No, I think it matters a heck of a lot more, actually. Because it was (I - and a whole lot of other people - wholeheardly believe) NOT Miley, whereas regardless, it was Vanessa. I agree that those people are crack-heads and should not be spreading those rumors and bashing that way though.
I'm glad we can so amiably agree to disagree too. And thank you.
