Killer Heat and Demonic Parasites: The Wonders of Summer
The weather outside right now is 99'F (which is 37'C), be we are being warned that it is likely to get to about 104'F (40'C). It's been like this since yesterday. We are all being advised to stay inside (although tomorrow is supposed to be less scorching).
I remind you I am still in the basic same area where we were covered in snow from December to April.
However, in addition to the awful heat, we have another weather warning that I've personally never heard of before. A special weather statement that says until 11 PM tomorrow that the air quality is too awful to apparantly breathe:
"Air quality levels in outdoor air are predicted to be greater than an air quality index value of 100 for the pollutant of ground level ozone. The air quality index... or aqi... was created as an easy way to correlate levels of different pollutants to one scale. The higher the aqi value, the greater the health concern. When pollution levels are elevated... the New York state department of health recommends that individuals consider limiting strenuous outdoor physical activity to reduce the risk of adverse health effects..."
Like I said, I've never heard of this warning before, but it's certainly frightening to think that it's too polluted to really be outside. Air quality problems are usually something you hear about happening in California, not NY...
However, what has been my main annoyance as of late are the STUPID MOSQUITOES. The evil demonic vermin, awful parasites, have definitely been in high population lately, because I've only been outside once these past few days, and I have counted about TEN bites already!! I hate these vermin, but they love me. I don' t know why. My sister's been out much more than I have, but she's only gotten bit once and that was all the way back in MAY (even back then I had more bites and mosquitoes aren't that active that time of the year). I think the damned bugs have been getting into my room down here too any time someone opens the door, because I've definitely been getting bites the past two days, and I have not gone outside although people have been coming in to use the fridge. What is most frustrating is that the only mosquitoes that suck blood, are PREGNANT females. So in addition to being incredibly annoying, these bites are also helping their damn population! Which I am not okay with!! Of course, this is not even going into the possible diseases these vermin carry.
I hate mosquitoes. Why do they love me? Now not only am I hot and tired, I'm also incredibly itchy!!!
But yeah, so outside not too great right now...
