[The Queen is sitting down and staring at the video, looking rather... Annoyed. Or rather, he he isn't smiling in his usual, confident way.]

I would ask for some assistance with this... [He holds up his arms to reveal that from his hands well past both shoulders are covered in blood, even over his shirt. In truth he is more annoyed by the fact that ( Read more... )

There isn't anything that can be done, I'm afraid.

Hmph... I had assumed as much. How unsightly.

It is, rather. If it's any consolation, it should be gone by midnight.

Hopefully that is the case.

It is rather interesting, though... Everyone seems to be suffering different afflictions.

I should hope it is the case. I'm not sure I'd enjoy a third or a fourth day of being a cat.

It is, yes. We've had this sort of pandemonium sweep through the City before.

You're currently a cat...? [Yes, he's doing a poor job keeping the amusement from his voice.] My, well I suppose I certainly could have had it worse.

Is that so? I suppose whoever controls this should get points for creativity, if nothing else.

I am, though it's not exactly a new situation. The City or the 'deities' or whoever or whatever causes the curses has seen fit to turn me into a cat before.

It seems to come around about once a month.

I see... I suppose some sort of pattern to these little pranks is useful.

I appreciate your assistance. Much more useful than another certain "cat".

There's rarely little pattern to it besides knowing that this madness will sweep across the City for one weekend a month every month. Besides that, we're all caught unawares by the curses.

You're quite welcome. And I do hope you can endure matters until midnight.

But some level of preparedness is better than none at all, hm?

I certainly can so long as it doesn't stain. I wish you luck in keeping out of trouble until you return to your original appearance.

I suppose, even if that preparedness is only knowing that there will be a curse sooner or later.

I don't think it should, but I hope it doesn't. And thank you. I should be all right.

It's quite an annoyingly ambiguous schedule, but it will have to do.

The City is never so accommodating as one might like.

I suppose that does make sense. After all, whoever is controlling the goings-on here would rightfully want to keep their captives anticipating and possibly fearful. [Somebody is speaking from experience.]

And the curses are meant to make us miserable for the sake of the City, or so the story goes. Uncertainty would only make it all the worse.

The intricacies of this place only grow more intriguing. I wonder what the point could be...?
