[the little communicator clicks on without ceremony, but for a long while nothing is written... When Kei finally finishes reading (and reading and re-reading) the article the only line he types is;]

I suppose this is what one would call irony.

[ !! ]

Did something actually happen in there? Is everyone all right?

Outside of a few headaches and soakings, I haven't heard of anyone coming to actual harm there, as of now.

That's a relief... Some people apparently managed to gather some supplies while they were there. Though from the sounds of it, the effort might not have been entirely worth it.

I wonder if that had to do with some of the other carnival games.

With the article, I would be more cautious. Experiences were less than pleasant, but at some point they look as if the will get dangerous.

'Ring Toss', from the sounds of it.

Most things tend to get worse the longer one's exposed to it... I suppose if there really is something worth collecting at the carnival, the best we can do is not go there alone.

I think that's good advice for everything around here. 'Best not to go there alone.'

Which means someone's going to ignore it at some point.

People already are. The most we can do is set up safety nets so that when they do, it's not disastrous for everyone.

The best we can do right now is keep the apartments reasonably save and accessible. Getting supplies on the other hand...

A map of the town might be helpful, now that I think about it.

Supply runs are always risky, and more necessary than I'd previously have hoped.

No one has one? Yes, a map would be helpful.

Who can fend for themselves here and who can't move as well would be a good thing to know right now. There have to be people here that can repel those ghosts.

I haven't heard of anyone mentioning one. Unless they're trying to keep it to themselves.

An abilities index, of a kind. Maybe we can arrange to do an inventory floor by floor, and keep at least two copies of it maintained in separate locations - if we want to get that organized. It may be worthwhile, to make use of people's strengths where we can.

Another project for the list. There's a few people who could lend to an overall idea of buildings and locations, though getting out there to do the scouting would be necessary anyway.

[a moment or two as he does a mental double-take]

Sounds like a plan. As for the map... It seems there are still some places hidden away. For being a town, this place is much more confusing than the Manor of Sleep.

I'll get working on the implementation soon, in that case.

[ A bit of a delay, mostly as she's thinking over the best way to approach the map idea. ]

From what I can tell, the Carnival grounds weren't accessible until the Carnival appeared. I didn't hear mention of them, at least. Changing a basic map as we learn more may end up being the wiser course of action, even if we do find a map of the area. Comparisons could provide insight later.
