best day EVER!
So today was really one of the best days ever. First I went and interviewed at Robert Mondavi winery and loved the people and the winery. Even though that's not where I'm going to work, it was great to meet the people and see such a large winery. I got to tour the winery and even try some wine!
After that I went to lunch with my mum and had some fabulous champagne battered fish and chips and a brownie dessert. Yum!
Then I went to Seavey vineyard, which is where I am actually going to work. It was absolutely gorgeous! I got to try wine, tour the winery and then walk through the vineyards. While I was there, two of the winemakers friends (both winemakers) were also visiting the winery, so we got to try wines straight from the barrels! It was so cool to hear them talk about and critique the wines. I can't wait to learn more about wine and know what they are talking about! Seriously though, I got to see where the wine grapes were grown and then try each kind straight from the barrel. I mean, I got to try cabernet from the same area, but different by either north or south facing slopes. It's truly amazing how there is such a difference just based on that. I am so excited!
The winemaker is awesome, and I got to talk to the intern from last year and get an idea of what I'll be doing. I seriously can't wait!
After that I went shopping and then to dinner with my mum in Napa. I had pesto (and I love pesto!) and the waiter was really hot. My mum told him that I had just graduated and gotten a job, and he gave me dessert on the house! Chocolate raspberry cake... to die for!
Today was all about good food, great wine, meeting awesome people, and loving my new winery. Oh I can't wait!
