Ohayou ("Good Morning" Satoshi Kon, 2008)

Ohayou is a 1 minute long short film produced for NHK as part of their Ani*Kuri15 series. It is the last thing that Satoshi Kon ever finished as a director, as he passed away a couple days ago. I wanted to make sure he had a post here, honoring his work, but it was hard to come up with something to post. I myself have capped Tokyo Godfathers and Millennium Actress, so I didn't want to cap those. I've seen too many Paprika posts here to want to cap it, beautiful as it is. I don't own Perfect Blue, and it's my least favorite of his works. Paranoia Agent episodes would violate film_still's rules. I suddenly remembered this short as I was drifting to sleep last night, so here's my post! Anyway, Satoshi Kon was one of my favorite directors, and he died far too early in his life and in his career. You should check out his works if you've never seen them before. Also, Ani*Kuri15 is pretty cool and has 1 minute shorts from some of the most talented people in Japanese animation. If you can get it, I'd recommend it too.
