FINE LINE
Canon? Slightly AU.
In this verse, Lily and James never made it past that "next step". They're friends-- or at least, they were, until they graduated, and Lily suddenly stopped hearing from him. The letters were at first every so often, social calls on regular occasions, and slowly but surely he stopped writing and calling and one day, Lily found she couldn't find his door. She moved on, as best she could, but it's hard. Things remind her of him.

WORLD AS WE KNOW IT
Canon? Straight on.
In this verse, Lily is a sixth-year. She's about as canon as it gets-- just starting to accept that maybe, just maybe, there's a glimmer of hope underneath James' rough, bully exterior. But don't call her on it, or she'll just frown and get defensive and maybe yell a bit if you're really lucky.

TRIPPING FROM MAIN LINE TO MOONBEAMS
Canon? Semi-AU.
In this verse, Lily is way too uptight. Okay, that's fair in almost every verse. But in this verse, her uptightness gets in her trouble one afternoon with the Headmaster after coming down too hard on a light-hearted prankster. She doesn't get detention or anything, just a dressing down from the Headmaster that stays with her. She has to calm down, he told her, before it drives her crazy. So who comes in to save the day? Sirius Black, of course, with a few "special friends" to help her out. She's lucky he's so good to her... and he's lucky she can lock up the prefect bathroom.
