[He hears someone approaching and opens his eyes, not entirely sure who to expect. Then blinks. And blinks again.]

This… This is not where I was. It isn't where I need to be.

[He looks around and frowns.]

Where is this place?

[He glances down at himself, moves his arm and frowns more.]

And why... This doesn't make sense.

We're not exactly sure... I guess the best way to describe it would be nowhere.

How can this be nowhere?!

[He looks really confused.]

I don't understand.

This place seems to be outside of all time, space, dimensions and realities... hence nowhere.

Don't worry. None of us really understand this place fully either.

That makes even less sense.

[He sighs and closes his eyes.]

It this...purgatory?

Purgatory? I don't believe so... and this isn't a heaven or hell either.

Again, this place doesn't make much sense outside of the regularity of curses and the coming and going of people here. You get used to it.

You mean...this isn't. I'm not dead?

But I feel... good. I was dying and now I'm here.

Well you could be... some people, myself included, are dead and still here. It's a gift of the City... of some strange entity that exists here. The dead that exist here are mostly alive. But this isn't some purgatory, heaven or hell. The living, the dead and the undead all exist here comfortably enough.

That...that doesn't make any sense at all. But, I suppose I shouldn't expect things to make sense if what you say is true.
