[Confused Aya is confuuuuuuuuuuuuuused. But hot chocolate is always nice. She quite gladly accepts it, taking a sip and holding the mug with both hands.]
You're adorable sometimes. You don't think it's odd to talk about people getting genderswapped and dreams suddenly becoming landscapes we can enter and leave like real places as though it's nothing more exciting or unusual than the weather getting warmer?
[Aya, to the best of her ability, then wipes all emotion from her face and speaks as a newscaster might. She makes it about two sentences in before the poker face falters.]
Last night, neighborhood dogs began to tap dance for biscuits alongside the road. One third of the population grew a second head, which is causing great confusion as two voices answer to the same name. On the bright side, a few of those insufferable jerks are finally getting a taste of what it's like to be around them. We can expect pink glitterclouds tonight with a 70% chance of Pockyfall, but that should clear up in time for this weekend's annual elephant frisbee tournament.
That's true huh? What flavor Pocky do you think it should be? I think it has to be strawberry-- it needs to match the pink glitterclouds it'll be falling from. What do you think?
[She might be getting a little too excited about this idea...]
It's nice to see you awake again.

[And here is where he'll not be saying how much it worried him to see her like that.]

I'm sorry. Of all things... I'm sorry. I don't know what happened.

[He conveniently leaves out the part about how he hasn't been talking with Ken and has been socially recluse.]

...Oniichan, is there anything you can't say with a straight face?
[There might be a bit of a smile at the corner of her mouth.]

...I'm not sure what you mean.
