Maureen, Kelly, the bird, the dog and the brass pole
So, Kelly and I decide to take advantage of the nice weather and take a walk to go get our lunch. We were heading up Lexington Ave and were generally engrossed in our own conversation. UNTIL, we notice a black lab, most likely in the older-puppy stage, tied up to a brass standing "no smoking" sign. Awe, how cute, right? WRONG! At that moment, said dog sees a bat with wings and decides to chase it. The bird flies right towards Kelly's head, Kelly, who was attempting to grab the dog, ducks thus leaving me both unable to grab the dog and unable to get out of harms way, due to the person on the other side of me attempting to grab the dog as well. Before I knew it, the dog was passing right by me and the brass base to the "no smoking" sign smacked into my left ankle and knocked me to the ground. The dog then ran out into the middle of Lexington Avenue.
Thankfully, traffic stopped and the dog was okay. My ankle is 12 shades of black and blue and getting pretty swollen. Kelly, who missed having a bird fly into her face by mere inches came out unscathed.
Moral of the story, 2 Geminis should NEVER go anywhere together when Mercury is in retrograde. We were totally asking for it!
