I also loved that, yes, they did a skit about Moses and the Passover story, but they did it *before* the seder actually began, not in place of it. Plus did you notice the haggadot? They were very distinctive - red and gold, the same ones my husband's famiy have used since they had two boys in yeshiva. It may have been in the middle of a workday (although, given how late their hours are, it may well have been at night) but they got the important things right.
Other favorite Jewish moments? There was a Sharon Gless series right after Cagney and Lacey finished its run - The Trials of Rosie O'Neill, which lasted less than a year. Her *boss*in the public defenders office wore a crocheted kippah, and disappeared early on Fridays. He invited her to a Shabbat dinner, and he, too, said kiddush correctly.
(Cute note - when the series ended, she married Barney Rosenzweig, the producer. I read the announcement in TV Guide, where they were surprised that the couple postponed their honeymoon for a week. We figured they were having sheva brachot (Orthodox couples spend their first week of married life going to dinner parties that end with repeating the seven marriage blessings. Among other things, it's a way of continuing the celebration with new people, since new faces are required at each meal.))
