Which TV shows did you start watching in 2011?
Once Upon a Time, Grimm, Happy Endings, Downton Abbey, Hart of Dixie, Merlin, Camelot, Game of Thrones, Ringer, Community and a smattering of other shows I am to lazy to remember at this point.
Which TV shows did you let go of in 2011?
I let go of quite a few shows, surprisingly. I find that I am becoming more and more obsessed with proper characterization, and view most things from the perspective of a literary critic (I'm trying not to, it's incredibly annoying). The most recent show I let go was Glee, which to me has become increasingly problematic. I used to love this show and it used to make me happy, but now it seems more like an after school special - especially when it comes to more serious issues like Quinn's postpartum depression etc; Another show I let go was The Vampire Diaries, which again due to characterization and the fact I wanted to punch everyone (save for my bb Caroline) in the face at the end of season two. There are a few other shows as well, but really not worth mentioning.
Which TV shows did you mean to get into but didn't in 2011? Why?
Not many that I can think of. I watched a lot more TV this year than I normally do.
Which TV shows do you intend on checking out in 2012?
I'm not really sure what's coming out next year. I will definitely be watching the next season of Downton Abbey (since it's properly airing here soon) and will be bawling my eyes out. I'll probably check out Awake with Jason Isaacs due to my love for Case Histories. The next season of Sherlock is also coming out, and of course more Doctor Who.
Which TV show do you think you might let go of in 2012 unless things significantly improve?
I can't think of anything, though I do have a feeling that either Once Upon a Time or Hart of Dixie will be run into the ground very soon. I'll enjoy them while I can.
Which TV show impressed you least in 2011?
I tried to watch Terra Nova and well...see last year I took a class on time travel fiction, which makes watching almost all things associated with time travel problematic (save for Doctor Who). While I'll probably give this show a second chance, all I could think about during the premier was the theories on time travel discussed in class. I think the concept is fantastic, it's just unfortunately I have trouble taking off my English student hat sometimes.
Which TV shows do you think you'll never let go of no matter how crappy they get?
See, last year I said this about Glee, and I've stopped watching. So I guess for this on we'll just have to wait and see, come what may.
