so i have a snowday today from work and am using the free wifi of a bookstore bc i don't get internet in my new place until friday, and i should do my ref hw, which i utterly utterly loathe.
(i had some classes i really disliked in college, but this is so much worse bc i am paying so much more for it, and i don't have friends in class w/ whom i could share the pain like i used to.)
so.
going back to my move: it snowed. several inches. they were only expecting 2ish, and it starting in the afternoon. they were wrong. it was coming down and sticking nicely by the time i had picked up replacement donuts in the morning.
we got a late start but the boys plowed thru it. totally grateful, that was awesome!!!!
i spent the wk thereafter picking thru boxes and putting together my new bed. patrickneil came by before the storm got back on friday to help me put my livingroom in order. i have created a reading nook for myself! i'm quite pleased.
my bday wkend, dc was attacked by the true snopocalypse... abt 2ft of snow? walking around in it felt like narnia, or a postapocalyptic world of somesort. we all milled abt the streets bc the sidewalks were impossible.
i had a bareminimum party on my bday (lots and lots and lots of love to those who made it out anyway, incl anamuan and wakikaki!!), and will have a make-up this upcoming friday. we'll see what happens, as more snow is expected, it's monday and the aboveground metros are still down, and also it's a start of the 3day wkend so most ppl already have plans.
but still, yay parties.
