I would recommend getting Sora's opinion on the matter, too.

If there's really no preventing a loss either way...it should at least be discussed with those at risk, hm? [ Not that he's of the opinion that there's no other way. This merits more looking into. ]

Coming to the wrong conclusion isn't stupid, it's just a misguided find. I think it speaks volumes that you're willing to speak so publicly in hopes of finding a solution.
