I can't believe--

Okay. Because Sora really isn't giving me much of a choice, here goes nothing.

Apparently I'm in need of friends. Don't ask me why; it was his idea, not mine. So, to get to the point, I'm Riku.

Happy now, Sora?

[ooc: See this for explanation, pff. Also, strikes = gone'd.

EDIT: Okay. Because this layout is fail and won't ( Read more... )

riku fails at sailing the friendship, ninth, bluntku is blunt, sora

[Since they've talked a few times before, and since Angelus is, for now, safely chained up--Buffy writes back, slowly.]

Scouting for buds? Pick me--I'm generally uncranky and I have a great "you're my friend and you're awesome" speech. You know--the one you always give a friend when something goes wrong, to make them feel better?

Really?

Sounds like the kind of speech Sora would make. Still, might have to take you up on that.

That kind of speech can come in handy. Always a good idea to have one or two amongst your normal-everyday-dangerous-and-tangible weapons.

I don't know, I guess they could be useful, but definitely not in a fight.

Actually, I know a guy who saved the world with one of those speeches. It was more than a little epic, from what I heard.

I'm sure it'd be interesting, at least. This happen in your world, or somewhere else?

My world. I wasn't there at the time. He talked our best friend out of ending the world, after she temporarily went all bad-magic-mama after her girlfriend was murdered.

But I've been assured that the speech was moving.

Man, that's...definitely intense. Probably a good thing he said something, if the whole world was at stake.

More troubling is that the rest of us didn't think to say anything. We just went in, guns blazing. Well, not with actual guns. But, like, with fists blazing, I suppose?

Hey, sounds like you did what you had to. Besides, it's not like fighting's bad in a situation like that.

Are you a fighter?

Could say that. I've been sparring for years, but I've never done anything that serious. Not yet, anyway.

It's not as fun as it sounds. It's actually more painful than funful.

[A pause in her writing while she remembers a previous conversation.]

When you say not yet, are you using the normal-everyday-awh-shucks-not-yet definition, or the crazy-time-paradox one?

I'd say the 'crazy-time-paradox' one. Apparently I wind up doing plenty of it in the future.

Oh, bummer.

[Tap, tap, tap. A few dots of ink.]

No, wait! Bonus--at least you know you end up able to look after yourself. Right? I think that's silver-lining worthy.

Yeah, can't say I can complain there. It's more or less what happens before that's a pain. Apparently I even wind up turning on Sora for a while and getting possessed.
