To Facebook Or Not To Facebook

I've officially had my Lumix for one month now and this is a compilation of brief excerpts taken from all the footage I've taken. If you've hung out with me in the past month, you're probably in this.
So when I get the right mix of bored and lonely, I get to working on websites. I really like setting up websites and accounts online, and this generally goes hand in hand with me subscribing to a new social network of some sort. This weekend I was seriously considering getting a Facebook. I don't know though, I've held out for so long, and it always seems that once I jump on board with networking site it dies in 8 months. Meh.
It's inevitable that I get one though, because I know I'll have to when I move away for college, but at least then when I do it I'll have an excuse.
Any thoughts? Someone want to talk me down from it? Someone want to talk me into it? I can go either way at this point, I just need some insight.
