My Life? Work? What? Huh?
So I'm at this period in my life where I'm kind of like WTF? Last week I cancelled my World of Warcraft account, because I know the amount of work that's going to be required of me at this point on is going to be monumental. I'm taking three classes this semester. I'm not working, but I'm trying to find a job here or in Portland. If I can't find a job in Portland, then unfortunately my move will be delayed possibly 1-2 years. Next semester, I will be taking my two final classes at OU and taking the Becker CPA review course. I plan to take the Financial Accounting and Auditing portions of my CPA in April/May. I graduate on May 5th. Now that I've had much time to evaluate things, I would rather get my CPA exam out of the way out before I move. That would make getting a job over there a lot easier.
So the question after I finish my CPA is what in God's green earth do I want to do with my life as far as work is concerned. Plan A: Work 4 years at a CPA firm, go to law school, get my LLM, and become a tax attorney. Plan B: Work 4 years at a CPA firm, get my Masters of Taxation and stay in the public accounting arena or become an officer at a public company. Plan C: Work 4 years at a CPA firm, possibly go to law school, or do whatever it takes to become a forensic accountant (investigating potential fraud/embezzling cases for the government/police, litigation support, etc.). A/C definitely sound the most exciting, but who knows :D.
This weekend I went to the AIDS Walk, which was pretty cool, and helped James paint my parents kitchen. We also watched V for Vendetta, a great movie on the political climate of England that takes place in the future. Check it out.
