Things are finally winding down with my college career and are about to beginning in the working world. I told myself after I graduated and before I started working, I would take a backpacking trip to Europe for about a month. This has been one of my dreams for quite a long time, and I am going to follow through on it. I realize a month seems like a really long time, but for visiting countries in Europe, it's really no time at all. There are so many places I want to visit, but at the same time, I don't want to feel rushed.
If I could visit all the places I'd want to, here would be the list in order of location.
1). Ireland (Dublin, Cork, Galway)
2). Scotland (Glasgow, Iona)
3). England (London)
4). Wales
5). France (Paris)
6). Germany (Hamburg, Berlin)
7). Austria (Vienna, Salzburg)
8). Italy (Florence, Rome)
This isn't going to be a typical vacation where I stay in fancy hotels or go to fancy restaurants. This is pure adventure. All I'm going to bring is a backpack full of a few pairs of clothes, stay with friends or at hostels, and pretty much do whatever I want (I have friends in Dublin and Salzburg). I am also dragging James along with me, who has only been to Michigan, Ohio, Indiana, and Illinois, but not even Canada.
If you have any experiences traveling to Europe, any tips for backpacking, or any good websites I could look at, that would be greatly appreciated. :D.
